More complex than Freud, this laudation of Anjunabeats is a standout on Volume Six.
Elektra (Original Mix)
Beginning after three minutes & a false start, Elektra, their seventh, is them getting back on their feet after Worldwide, where they would stay, for some time. Our first descent into sanity is astral vocals, which I could be intoxicated by forever. Then, a half-psychotic melody floats up out of the misty fen. The bass is starless, though the tune does hold back in some places. Nonetheless, this is cherubic.
The worst part of this is the superfluous tuneless segment after the first climactic burst. Why were those ever there?
Elektra (Bart Claessen & Dave Schiemann Remix)
Claessen collaborated with Schiemann a couple of times. Dave's debut was not momentous.
The synopsis brags that this is: truly dirty & pounding. & it might be. For 2008.
They continue: it highlights the electro sound. Well, I suppose that that could be said about something that is c. 90% trash. The rest is a tune breakdown that's the OM with uplift pasted over it & a tuneful climax that lasts as long as an adult mayfly's feast. There is nothing of value in this e pluribus unum disaster.
